UX & INTERACTION

Oracle Analytics Cloud

Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) empowers business analysts and users with modern, AI-powered, self-service analytics capabilities, including data preparation, visualization, enterprise reporting, augmented analysis, and natural language processing/generation.

Success Criteria

OAC is a feature-rich and powerful tool, so the goal was to enhance the user experience by making it not only more appealing but also intuitive—despite its vast array of embedded features.

My primary role was to review the homepage and, based on research and use cases, improve its overall experience. This process involved collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of visual designers, UX designers, product managers, and developers.

In addition to my core UX tasks, I also contributed to a variety of other responsibilities, including icon design, interaction prototypes, user research, redlining for developers, and wireframing for the product’s next generation.

Key Contributions

  • OAC Project Page: The look and feel of the OAC project page during my time on the team.
  • Canvas Properties Pane: After conducting a research session with a client, we explored different placements for the Canvas Properties pane within the canvas to enhance the user experience when editing objects.
  • Redline Specs: Prepared detailed redline specifications after refining the styling for developers.
  • Icon Set: Designed a custom icon set specifically for wireframing the next-generation version of OAC.
  • Interaction Prototype: Created an interaction prototype to test the viability of a specific design mockup.

The work we did on OAC was a comprehensive effort to streamline the experience, making an already powerful tool more accessible and user-friendly for our diverse user base.
