Jarvis Documentation Tool

Jarvis is Oracle’s Document Engineering Internal Tool used by Writers to test, approve and publish every single of Oracle’s documents. It is important to note that every product made by Oracle has its documentation and each document passes through Jarvis.

Before this tool was made, Writers had to do each step of the process on separated platforms, each with its own Look and Feel and a completely different User Experience. It is easy to understand how slow the entire process was.

Goal

Help our fellow writers by providing an efficient solution for publishing a document or book.

Challenges

There was a clear need but no one actually asked for a solution.

We had zero resources.

Solution

Centralize all the steps of the document creation process into one tool.

One simple dashboard.

Learn how to do the process in order to understand the actual needs.

Results

Time saving + user friendly.

Publishing a document, from start to finish, went down from 4 hours to 30 minutes.

Jarvis user base grew from 10 users to 300 users in 2019.

Simplified process. Anyone could easily publish a document.

This helped greatly with the onboarding process of new members of the team.
