Carla Morrison is a renowned Mexican indie-pop singer and composer, with two Latin Grammys to her name. In 2017, she released Amor Supremo Desnudo, a remake of her 2015 album Amor Supremo. Her website needed a complete overhaul to align with the new album’s visual style, and I was tasked with leading this redesign.
The objective was to tailor Carla’s website to better meet her fans’ needs while reflecting the visual identity of her latest album. Key updates included adding music, a Q&A section, and updating the lyrics for all of her albums. The goal was to make fans feel as though Carla was directly interacting with them, as she was personally involved in every aspect of the site.
Carla played an active role throughout the process, not only wanting a refreshed look that aligned with her branding, but also requesting significant usability improvements to enhance the fan experience. The biggest challenge, however, was making all of these updates without modifying the core structure of the website—something Carla insisted on due to personal reasons. This limitation made it necessary to find creative solutions that met her needs without access to the source code.
